I know this posting might feel a little dark. It is due to me trying to channel some recent anger into the positive side. Making most of the negative energy turn out in a productive manner versus just stewing in the cycles of dumb we find ourselves in. Adaptation to changes while attempting to hold out and maybe keep a few of the old ways firmly in grasp. Off top of noggin there are two changes that will be illuminated here.
First off I finally succumbed to the new ways and purchased a burner. For those who don't watch the wire I mean a cheap cell phone. I figure it will help in some ways business, security, and screening wise. Fairly amazing how cheap the phone itself was, I told myself as I exited the big box that won't be named because I didn't get a plug to do so. The minutes one must purchase are relatively inexpensive but that doesn't mean I'm ignorant to the game being played. Time sensitivity versus monthly plans all in the end you must pay on a periodic basis. Gotta get you hooked, and shunning the ancient concept of landline. If you are a friend, family member, or business associate I'll hip you to the number. Should start another paragraph but want to avoid the soapbox. I really weighed the issues before shedding the last of my ludite sensibilities. I know all about the wingnut discussions on safety and security. But they pimp just as much fear as those that say hey why not have the ability to jibberJabber at a moments notice.
I could flush more angles out to the meaning of my newly purchased low tech goodie. But I also have issues that effect what I call tronland and the ability it affords some to create income. I really was surprised at the turn of events. Again, like I mentioned above the names will be kept out but anyone who has been on the intertubes more than once knows who I mean. Apparently new standards or levels of productivity have been implemented at said location. A famous auction site is the only description I will lend them as in the past I simply figured hey I've been lucky and done good transactions for quite some time, maybe the nay sayers just caught a raw deal.
To keep things simple I got the runaround. Not something that normally would even cause a second thought, but the manner in which it was distributed reminded me of the George Carlin bit. "Get into position to properly Service the customer." is the proper quote I believe. Anyways the new way of doing things means ten years of membership means jack. You go monthly. You get your money when we want to divvy it out to you. You don't get to know why, just know someone somewhere may or may not have complained. Wait until next go-round to see if things get any better.
When you try and fix things just remember the flow chart. If you don't know about the flow chart do a search and then watch the Carlin bit again. I would stop whinging about it, but the blatant phone tree responses given after attempting to rectify the issues made me realize I'm dealing with the borg here. Others have told me to write letters and go deep but I sense the futility. Waste energy on this or wait for if a serious sitrep presents itself. I already have visited the numerous sites that warn folk of these places. They say it is only a matter of time until you also see how transactions occur.
So now the place I used to think was solid, and a primary location to create earnings is at the bottom of the barrel. There was always the hint at squirrel behaviour. Goofy tabulations that hinted at the uneven balance between the purchaser and the owner. A glorified electronic billboard if you will. Basically it is to the point of hoop jumping. For that reason I will start plugging my website, here at the blog, and alternative sites that allow a sense of online garbage ( cough, cough! :-P ) garage sale concepts.
Before I end transmission I want to say apologies for the the frequency. How do I expect anyone to subscribe, comment, or bother with constructive criticism if the post flow so slow. I can't promise daily. Weekly seems doable as long as I keep the mindset right. Will attempt to be more often than that. In case this was too kranky I want to ask who is watching breaking bad, newsroom, or the olympics?!
